TAMMIE MAGEE REINSCH has been teaching all forms of dance at the Ballet Academy since 1996. Previously she was the assistant director of the Plano Metropolitan Ballet and the director of dance at Titans Gymnastics Center. Her choreography has won awards at the Youth America Grand Prix competitions and has been selected for the Regional Dance America Southwest festivals.
JENNY JOHNSTON began her ballet training with Pat Mitchell in Longview, Texas. She continued her studies at The School of American Ballet and The American Ballet Theater School in New York. She received her B.F.A. in Ballet from Texas Christian University while also performing as soloist with The Fort Worth Ballet. Other teachers which influenced Ms. Johnston were Arthur Mitchell, Erik Bruhn, Nancy Schaffenburg Cross, Fernando Schaffenburg, Robert Denvers, and David Howard.
Ms. Johnston has been on the ballet faculty of BTWHSPVA, Dallas Ballet, Ballet Dallas, and Ballet Academy of Texas where she has taught since it's inception. She has been on the guest faculty of The American College Dance Festival and continues to guest teach and coach in the area.
Her choreography has won awards at The Youth American Grade Prix Regionals. Her ballet La Nuit Rose was performed on the Gala Evening of the RDA/Southwest Festival and won the RDA National Commissioning Award for 2009.
Her former students have gone on to perform with The San Francisco Ballet, Boston Ballet, The Royal Danish Ballet, Houston Ballet, Tulsa Ballet, Texas Ballet Theater, Carolina Ballet, American Ballet Theater, and The New York City Ballet.
Her teaching style is one of grace, energy, and joy.
DARRELL CLEVELAND recently retired from Dallas Black Dance Theatre, where he was a leading dancer for 8 years. He has been teaching Jazz at the Ballet Academy’s Summer Intensive for the past 9 years. He has become a regular staff member of the Ballet Academy of Texas since his retirement, teaching Jazz and Modern to all levels. He has performed with Toni Braxton and En Vogue, and choreographed several musicals and commercials. He received a full scholarship from the Regional Dance America/Southwest organization to attend the 2008 Craft of Choreography Workshop for his choreography of "Grace Under Fire" for the Ballet Ensemble of Texas.
